Privacy Policy
webert is a film and TV ranking app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it. We've tried to write this in plain English.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your email address (used to log in and, in future, send notifications you opt into)
- Your name and a username you choose
When you use the app, we store:
- Your film and TV rankings, watchlist, and watching status
- Your activity (what you ranked, when) which may be visible to other users in the feed
- Who you follow and who follows you
- Reactions you give to activity in the feed
What we don't collect
We don't collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any device information beyond what's needed to run the app. We don't run ads and we don't sell your data to anyone.
How we use your information
Your data is used to:
- Power the app — your rankings, suggestions, and social features
- Show other users your activity in the feed (your display name and what you ranked)
- Calculate community scores (Wescore) from aggregated rankings
Who can see your data
Your rankings and watchlist are visible to other webert users. Your email address is never visible to other users. You can choose to share your profile via a link — only the information you've added to the app will be shown.
Third-party services
webert uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — stores your account data and rankings. Supabase Privacy Policy
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — provides film and TV data. webert does not share your personal data with TMDB. TMDB Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare — serves the app. Standard web traffic logs may be retained briefly. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
Data retention and deletion
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. If you'd like your account and all associated data deleted, email us at the address below and we'll take care of it within 30 days.
Children
webert is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
